POSITION PURPOSE:
This role is responsible for creating, collecting, organizing, and maintaining information to assist project engineers in developing product designs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Develop preliminary sketches, models, and detail part and assembly drawings. Modify and use existing parts to assemble products and create new designs. Create print packages to be released to the purchasing department. Maintain existing models and drawings including revisions. Keep supervisor informed of all pertinent information. Communicate ideas to ensure successful designs for current and future growth. Research and help gather necessary information to develop or improve a design. Support Forpak operations team as needed with different production tasks. Reverse engineer parts and assemblies. Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices. Be a safety champion. All other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Computer experience and knowledge using Solidworks, and Microsoft OFFICE PROGRAMS: Outlook, Excel, and Word. General understanding of sheet metal fabrication, machining, and weldments.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3+ years' relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Working with external references, equations and templates in Solidworks.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Lift up to 30 pounds.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
COMMUNICATION: Able to answer questions during evenings and weekends with service technicians and customers, as needed.
