Digital Marketing Manager

Champion Energy Services and GoodCharlie, two leading electricity retail providers (REPs) in ERCOT and subsidiaries of Calpine, are seeking a dynamic and strategic Digital Marketing Manager to lead our digital strategy and execution for the residential businesses. This role is ideal for a seasoned marketing leader with deep experience in digital platforms, content strategy, and team leadershipespecially within the energy, electricity or consumer products industry.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and a passion for the energy sector. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing online marketing strategies to drive customer engagement, increase brand awareness, and generate leads in the residential electricity market.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Support: Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing platform in support of strategies to enhance brand visibility and attract new customers. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth across both brands, aligning with overall business goals and marketing plans.
  • Content Marketing: Develop engaging and informative content for various digital platforms, including the company website, blogs, social media, and email newsletters. Collaborate with the creative team to produce high-quality graphics, videos, and marketing collateral.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimize website content to improve search engine rankings and increase organic traffic. Conduct keyword research and implement on-page and off-page SEO strategies.
  • Social Media Management: Manage and grow the company's social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Create and schedule engaging posts, respond to customer inquiries, and monitor social media trends.
  • Paid Advertising: Develop and manage digital advertising campaigns, including Google Ads, social media ads, and display advertising. Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize ROI.
  • Email Marketing: Design and execute targeted email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and retain existing customers. Analyze email performance metrics and optimize campaigns for better engagement.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) to track and report on digital marketing performance. Provide regular updates and insights to the marketing team and senior management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, customer service, and product teams to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with business objectives. Collaborate with external agencies and vendors as needed to support marketing efforts.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master's degree a plus) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people-management capacity
  • Experience in the energy or electricity sector (REPs or ERCOT preferred)
  • Agency experience or experience managing external agency relationships
  • Proven success developing and executing multi-channel digital campaigns
  • Strong understanding of SEO, website strategy, content management systems, marketing analytics, and social media trends
  • Experience working with legal and regulatory teams and managing compliance in a regulated industry
  • Strategic thinker with a strong grasp of brand development, performance metrics, and customer engagement
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Must reside in the Greater Houston area and be available for required in-office days (hybrid schedule)
