Do you enjoy supporting creative learning environments and working with diverse communities? The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is seeking a Studio Program Assistant to help deliver high-quality, hands-on art workshops to students, families, and community partners both onsite and throughout the Kansas City area.
Position Details:
Location: Kansas City, MO (On-site with occasional offsite travel)
Status: Part-Time, On-Call
Schedule: Varies by programming needs; availability on weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings required
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour

Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with setup, cleanup, and material preparation for art workshops
- Maintaining clean and organized studio and storage spaces
- Providing friendly, age-appropriate support to students during workshops
- Traveling to offsite program locations within the Kansas City area as needed
- Communicating availability and schedule updates in a timely manner
- Attending required trainings to stay informed on inclusive practices and safety protocols
- Supporting museum staff in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with public audiences; familiarity with diverse learners preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and responsiveness
- Comfort working with children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a collaborative team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Teams a plus
- A collaborative, mission-driven work environment
