Compensation: $22/hour | Part-Time (2025 hours/week)
Position Overview:
Rubicon Theatre is seeking a part-time Marketing Assistant to support the Marketing Director in day-to-day communications and outreach efforts. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in marketing, storytelling, and audience engagement within a creative, mission-driven organization. The role is a mix of creative content development and logistical coordination. Some days will involve writing, editing, and designing. Others may include tracking deadlines, formatting spreadsheets, or preparing materials for upcoming productions. Were looking for someone whos organized, dependable, and eager to learnsomeone who brings curiosity to the work, even when its not glamorous. Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Coordination (50%) Plan and schedule social media content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) Monitor audience engagement and community interactions Create and curate visuals, short-form videos, and promotional content Assist in capturing content at rehearsals, performances, and other special events. Copywriting & Video Editing (25%) Write engaging content for social media, email campaigns, and press releases. Edit promotional videos, highlight reels, and behind-the-scenes content. Administrative Support (25%) Provide day-to-day assistance to the Marketing Director, including organizing assets, tracking deadlines, maintaining press archives, and preparing reports. Coordinate marketing calendar and project spreadsheet, press lists, and marketing materials Update and maintain Rubicons website and online event listings Qualifications & Skills:
Hard Skills: Proficiency with major social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Later, or similar) Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, iMovie and/or similar design and video editing platforms a plus Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Comfort with tools like Google Drive, Excel/Sheets, Google Docs, etc. Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Passion for the arts, live theatre, and storytelling Creative and proactive in content development Strong interpersonal communication, positive attitude and a collaborative spirit Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently Preferred But Not Required: Bachelors degree (or pursuing a degree) in Marketing, Communications, Theatre, Arts Administration, or related field Prior internship or experience in a marketing, communications, or arts-related role Photography and/or video editing skills a bonus What We Offer: A learning-focused environment with a wide range of hands-on experiences across digital marketing, storytelling, and audience engagement Four complimentary tickets to each mainstage production The opportunity to grow your skills and expand your portfolio in a professional theatre setting About Rubicon Theatre:
