: This position will be onsite at our corporate offices in Allen, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth area). Note:
Not a remote position. Full-time W-2 ONSITE opportunity (not remote)! Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer-sponsored visa sponsorship now or in the future. At this time, Sol-Ark is unable to consider candidates on any type of OPT or H1B status. The Technical Marketing Manager will lead detailed technical comparisons and assessments of competitive product offerings, focusing on functional use-cases, design for quality, and design for cost. This role involves developing and executing rigorous test plans, conducting in-depth product teardowns, and reporting technical findings to drive two primary outcomes: 1) creating compelling marketing collateral that highlights Sol-Ark’s strengths and competitors’ limitations, and 2) synthesizing design best practices to inform continuous product improvement through benchmarking. The candidate will collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and Applications Engineering teams to maximize the impact of competitive analysis. We seek a technically proficient individual with a background in power electronics and electrical systems, ideally with an engineering or technician education, to deliver data-driven insights and marketing strategies. Responsibilities: Competitive Analysis and Teardowns:
Conduct in-depth technical evaluations of Sol-Ark’s products (e.g., hybrid inverters, microinverters) against competitors, assessing functionality, reliability, and cost through hands-on testing and detailed product teardowns. Design for Quality Assessments:
Analyze competitor and Sol-Ark products for reliability, durability, and performance under real-world conditions (e.g., thermal stress, electrical load, environmental factors), identifying design strengths and weaknesses using tools like failure mode analysis (FMEA) and reliability testing protocols. Design for Cost Assessments:
Evaluate component selection, manufacturing processes, and design efficiencies to assess cost-effectiveness, comparing Sol-Ark’s solutions to competitors’ to identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality. Test Plan Development:
Design and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to validate product performance, reliability, and efficiency, ensuring alignment with industry standards. Marketing Collateral Creation:
Partner with Product Marketing to develop compelling assets (e.g., whitepapers, videos, datasheets, case studies) that translate technical findings into clear, market-facing content, emphasizing Sol-Ark’s superior design, reliability, or cost advantages. Design Best Practices Synthesis:
Document and synthesize insights from competitive benchmarking to identify industry-leading design practices, providing actionable recommendations to Engineering and Product Management for continuous product improvement (e.g., mechanical, electrical, functional). Technical Reporting:
Produce detailed reports summarizing findings from competitive analyses, teardowns, and quality/cost assessments, translating complex data into actionable insights for technical and marketing teams. Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field (e.g., technician training in power electronics). Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PE, CET) are a plus. 3–5 years of experience in power electronics, electrical systems, or related fields, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry. Proven expertise in conducting design for quality assessments (e.g., reliability testing, FMEA) and design for cost evaluations (e.g., component analysis, BOM optimization). Hands-on experience with product teardowns, competitive benchmarking, or test plan execution for electrical/electronic components (e.g., inverters, battery systems). Experience creating technical marketing content (e.g., whitepapers, comparison videos) is highly desirable. Deep knowledge of power electronics, including inverters, battery management systems, and grid integration, with the ability to assess design reliability and cost-effectiveness. Proficiency in test plan development, reliability analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, Weibull analysis), and data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Excel). Strong analytical skills to evaluate component-level design choices and manufacturing processes for cost and quality optimization. Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical findings into compelling marketing messages for diverse audiences (e.g., installers, homeowners, C&I clients).
