Responsibilities
Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students interested in the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program. Collaborates with the Student Services Team to develop and implement strategies for recruiting and retaining applicants. Conducts outreach activities to facilitate student recruitment for the MSIT and undergraduate pathway programs, including participation in recruitment events and engagement with prospective students and community partners. Maintains prospective student communications by regularly reviewing and updating email templates, recruitment materials, and marketing content to ensure alignment with the mission and vision of the School of Information. Coordinates the admissions evaluation and notification processes for all applicants to the MSIT program and affiliated combined and joint pathway programs, fostering a supportive and accessible admissions experience.
Serves as primary Student Services Advisor and School of Information Registrar for graduate students in the MSIT program and fosters a welcoming and supportive environment where all ideas and perspectives are valued. Responsible for monitoring student progression, registration, and graduation clearances for all graduate programs and ensures compliance with the University's Graduate Student Tracking System. Assist with the annual scholarship application process to include verifying prospective and current student data and processing of scholarship application materials. Works with Assistant Director for Academic & Student Services to provide recommendations concerning students facing academic probation or dismissal.
Assists with the implementation and maintenance of the communications plan from prospective student inquiry through initial enrollment to support a safe and accessible educational experience that is representative of all populations. Assists with the annual review of all student-related web content, print publications, external websites, marketing materials, and university publications. Works with the iSchool advising team in determining policy revisions with regard to enrollment and retention. Edits and posts student-related content, as assigned, on the School of Information website. Oversees and assists with the update of all web content related to undergraduate and graduate student admissions, orientation, and enrollment, as well as maintains an online orientation and advising site and social media advising site, ensuring that all populations are represented and recognized.
Interprets University and Department graduate admissions policies and requirements to prospective and current students. Conducts research, compiles, and interprets statistical reports to recommend improvements to MSIT program performance. Supports the tracking and evaluation of employment outcomes of graduates from the MSIT program at the School of Information.
Serves of School of Information and University Committees as needed. Assist the Graduate Student Services team during peak times to ensure timely completion of team functions, to include cross-training between team members. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
