The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects tutors with thousands of students seeking online AP English Literature and Composition instruction. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Pay and Benefits

Base pay range: $18.00/hr – $40.00/hr. Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects. You’ll also earn higher pay for each session with the same student, up to $40/hour. You may receive payments up to twice per week for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced. You set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required. We handle the logistics—you invoice for your tutoring sessions, and we take care of payments. Our AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time and enhance teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring through 1-on-1 online sessions, delivering personalized instruction.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests when you’re available.
• Match with students best suited to your teaching style and subject expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Experience in tutoring or teaching and/or graduate-level education is a plus.
