Minimum Requirements
- 11 years of hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- 11 years of demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.
- 10 years of experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
- 10 years of experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.
Preferred Experience
- 5 years of experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
- 3 years of demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- 3 years of experience managing multiple design streams across concurrent work efforts, demonstrating strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- 3 years of education or equivalent experience, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Summary
- We are seeking a highly experienced UI/UX Designer to lead design efforts for the HHSC eligibility systems.
- This role is pivotal in enhancing accessibility, usability, and responsiveness across complex enterprise applications.
- The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in user-centered design, a strong portfolio of enterprise-level UX work, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to deliver intuitive, inclusive, and impactful user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead user research, journey mapping, and discovery workshops to uncover user needs and identify design opportunities.
- Design wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies aligned with accessibility standards and branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply best practices in UI/UX design.
- Conduct usability testing and implement responsive design strategies across web and mobile platforms.
- Design interfaces for AI/ML-powered systems, emphasizing explainable AI and human-AI interaction.
- Translate complex business logic and regulatory requirements into user-friendly designs.
- Create data visualizations that communicate insights clearly and effectively.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and accessibility compliance (WCAG).
- Facilitate feedback sessions and sprint planning to align design with business goals.
- Utilize tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar to execute design deliverables.
