Job Description
We are seeking an Industrial Designer specializing in sheet metal design for finishing systems. This role involves creating 2D and 3D models, preparing detailed manufacturing drawings, and collaborating with engineers to meet project goals. Proficiency in 3D modeling using software such as Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
Responsibilities
Design sheet metal components and assemblies for finishing systems.
Create detailed manufacturing documentation in 3D.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet project objectives.
Utilize AutoCAD and 3D modeling software for product development.
Optimize product aesthetics and functionality.
Manage design projects from concept to production.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks for 3D modeling.
Experience in designing sheet metal components.
Strong collaboration skills with engineers and project managers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in sheet metal and powder coating.
Experience with powder coating processes.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite in a cubicle with the engineering team, with opportunities to work hands-on with the product on the floor. The facility is located in Vancouver and is equipped with multiple spray booths capable of handling products ranging from automotive to aerospace and defense sectors. The work environment encourages collaboration and career growth within the metal fabrication and manufacturing space.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
