Position Description:

The Interlibrary Services (ILS) Student Assistant supports the Library's resource sharing and document delivery services through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and AU Chapter Requests. The student assistant processes requests from users, and tracks resource sharing usage data, fines, unclaimed loans, and shipped items. The incumbent may also assist with additional projects for the ILS unit.

Responsibilities:

Processing incoming and outgoing ILL loan and article requests, as well as Document Delivery chapter requests Shelving, retrieving, and transporting books and other print materials Packaging and shipping outgoing library materials Processing and checking in incoming materials Digitizing chapter and article resource sharing requests Fulfilling e-journal lending requests and uploading articles through ILLiad software Uploading requested material to patron accounts Learning and interpreting copyright and license agreements for electronic collections

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Part-Time. This position requires a minimum commitment of 12 hours worked per week during Fall and/or Spring semesters. Incumbents are required to work through Study Days for Fall and Spring semesters. Salary Range:

$17.95 - $18.50 per hour. Required Education and Experience:

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at AU. Excellent customer service, organization, communication, and problem solving skills. Basic computer skills. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Other Details
