Overview

As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll be matched with students seeking AP English Literature and Composition support. You can tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform and manage your sessions with minimal commuting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring for AP English Literature and Composition.
  • Personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Explain concepts clearly and professionally to students.
  • Utilize the platform’s tools to generate or prepare lesson materials and engage students.
  • Calendar and manage tutoring sessions, including on-demand requests when available.

What We Look For

  • Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to tailor lessons to individual student needs and learning styles.
  • Priority given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40/hour with repeat students.
