Supervisory Relationships
- Reports to: Cultural Arts Manager
- Supervises: N/A
Basic Function
Responsible for the safety, progressive education, and implementation of a variety of music classes including piano, voice, guitar, violin.
Essential Duties
- Supervise and lead private and group activity sessions.
- Work with students/families to schedule lessons. Monitor registration to insure all participants and lessons are properly accounted for.
- Provide exceptional customer service to students and families.
- Evaluates participant’s progress and performance on a continual basis for the purpose of immediately helping the participant to improve their skills and confidence.
- Communicate matters of importance with the Cultural Arts Supervisor.
- Submit routine paperwork, such as Incident Reports, as they come due.
- Enforce Lakeview Center facility rules.
- Work cooperatively as a team member with other program staff members.
- Evaluate instruments and equipment and inform supervisor of any needs for update or replacement.
Other Duties
- Attend all in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
- Direct patrons in the event of an emergency such as severe weather or fire.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Park District Safety and Crisis Manuals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education: Completed High School
Formal music education. Demonstrates musical knowledge and ability.
Experience: 20 years of age or older, preferred
In depth experience in music
Previous experience teaching and working with kids ages 6 – 14
Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certified, Classes available through Park District upon hire
