Creative Corners Preschool Director of Spanish Immersion Program(s) Position posted for Des Plaines Park District. This role supports the Spanish Immersion and enrichment programs for ages 3–6, including summer preschool, and requires fluency in English and Spanish, developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education, and strong communication with families and staff. Responsibilities

Implement Spanish Immersion and Spanish Immersion Enrichment Programs for 3- to 6-year-olds. Plan, supervise, and ensure the safety of the preschool program and activities to meet the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of individuals and groups. Speak/read English and Spanish fluently; conduct daily programs in Spanish. Prepare classrooms and supervise cleanup; arrive 60 minutes before class and stay 30 minutes after for prep and cleanup. Maintain a clean, organized, warm, and safe learning environment; supervise and direct the Spanish Immersion Preschool Director’s assistant(s). Provide age-appropriate activities and materials; purchase or order supplies (reimbursement eligible) through the Recreation Supervisor. Implement positive behavior management per policy A-24 and complete applicable documentation. Collaborate with Inclusion Aides in the classroom as provided by Maine-Niles Special Recreation Agency. Develop curriculum and monthly base lesson plans; submit to Recreation Supervisor. Stay up-to-date on preschool issues and trends; participate in relevant professional development. Work cohesively with co-teachers, assistants, and substitutes; assist in decorating bulletin boards. Communicate with parents about participant behavior and progress; provide timely written, electronic, and verbal updates. Work with bilingual families; maintain a pleasant, reliable, proactive work attitude; model appropriate participant behavior. Lead evacuation procedures and drills (shelter in place, fire, tornado). Meet regularly with the Recreation Supervisor; maintain open lines of communication. Familiar with classroom technology and willing to receive SMART Technology training. Other Duties

Administer First Aid when required and document accordingly. Adhere to safety policies and crisis procedures; respond to emergencies and coordinate with the Recreation Supervisor for equipment repairs. Attend related trainings and meetings; use classroom technology to prepare newsletters and handouts (Word or equivalent). Additional duties as assigned. Position Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or a Bachelor’s degree in any field with six Early Childhood credit hours. Experience: Minimum of one year in a teaching role (employee or student teacher). Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid Certified. Classes available through Park District upon hire. Perks & Benefits
