Overview

Assistant Professor (Studio Art- Ceramics) - Department of Art & Art History, School of Arts & Sciences at The City University of New York (Hunter College). Tenure-track position in Studio Art with a focus on Ceramics to start Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing creative research; graduate teaching and advising in Hunter’s nationally recognized MFA program; and teaching the college’s diverse undergraduate population in the beginning and advanced courses in Ceramics.
  • Active participation in the administrative operations of the department, including serving as faculty area head overseeing the undergraduate and graduate Ceramics studios.

Qualifications

  • MFA degree is required. Active practice and demonstrable professional accomplishments and/or exhibition record, as well as college level teaching experience beyond graduate teaching assistantships on both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Candidates should be willing and able to teach in conjunction with curatorial initiatives.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience, within the approved range of $87,978 - $105,593 (4/24 contract).
