Job Description

The Fine Arts Department seeks a faculty member in printmaking. The ideal candidate will teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate printmaking courses in intaglio, lithography, relief, screen print and digital technologies. Additional skills and teaching abilities in drawing are desired. The candidate must possess the ability to leverage a strong foundation in traditional artistic skill and practice as a platform for more divergent thinking and innovation. We are open to hybrid forms of creative and interdisciplinary inquiry that connect to other units in the Fine Arts Department and the College. The ideal candidate must have an established exhibition record and teaching experience at the college level.

The successful candidate should be a team-oriented leader who will play an active role with the Fine Arts Department in curriculum development, facility management, leadership and student mentorship, as well as cross-disciplinary collaboration throughout the College.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate printmaking courses across levels (beginning to advanced) in intaglio, lithography, relief, screen print and digital technologies.
  • Possess and apply skills in drawing as part of the printmaking curriculum.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, facility management, leadership, student mentorship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration within the Fine Arts Department and College.
  • Engage in curricular assessment, student-centered feedback, and counseling as part of program development.
  • Develop curricula for foundations, AAS, and BFA programs; contribute to interdisciplinary and hybrid teaching methods.
  • Promote safe and sustainable studio practices in partnership with FIT’s Health and Safety resources and the Department Chair.
  • Maintain and expand an active exhibition record and participate in the broader artistic community.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: MFA in Fine Arts or a related field.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated record of established exhibition work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of college-level teaching and professional exhibition experience.

Salary

The final starting salary and appointment rank will be based on education level and cumulative experience; CBA Salary Schedules.

  • Instructor: $69,346.37 - $80,793.82
  • Assistant Professor: $80,736.40 - $118,984.88
  • Associate Professor: $94,498.31 - $142,271.78
  • Professor: $115,232.32 - $173,403.37
