Position Summary and What you’ll do: Supervises and develops hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and setting clear expectations. Promotes a belonging mindset, recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth. Coordinates job-related activities and builds relationships with key stakeholders; supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; communicates goals and objectives; measures progress and identifies improvement opportunities; and promotes continuous learning. Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores, providing feedback, and communicating with all levels of staff about store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Model exceptional customer service standards following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; support customer service initiatives and community outreach programs; resolve customer needs and issues; develop action plans to correct deficiencies; lead process improvements for a high quality customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethics; support the Open Door Policy; guide the application of these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, managing expenses, ensuring inventory flow and merchandising, and developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Promote Respect for the Individual and Integrity; foster teamwork, trust, and a culture of belonging; acknowledge contributions and mentor others; uphold Walmart values and integrity in all actions.
  • Deliver results for customers and members; prioritize decisions based on reliable information and balance short- and long-term goals; drive continuous improvements and openness to new technologies and skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements: may require a current state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Note: The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Regional Pay Zone and Complex Structure are based on location and external factors. Some positions may include further compensation; details provided during recruitment.
