Public Relations Account Manager (B2B Technology, Cybersecurity, Financial Services)

We’re looking for a visionary, creative type with 5+ years of experience growing teams and delighting clients. As an Account Manager, you will lead 3 to 4 teams doing everything from developing high-level strategy with clients to executing media, influencer and social programs. Rock-solid writing skills, deep knowledge of the technology industry and proficiency with all things digital and social are required. The role demands edge thinking to develop programs with meaningful business impact, and the ability to inspire and energize teams while taking Highwire to new heights. Technology background and established relationships with consumer tech media are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Media/Influencer Relations
• Build and leverage relationships with business, broadcast and influencer media; guide staff to do the same
• Develop and execute social media strategies to engage audiences and support campaigns
• Ongoing media engagement for the agency (e.g., blog Q&A, lunch talks)
• Measure the ROI of communications activities
• Manage social media influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification
• Client Service/Management: manage PR programs from kickoff to goal achievement
• Set aggressive yet achievable goals based on news generation and ongoing coverage
• Exceptional client management and investment in client success
• Navigate periods of change or challenge; communicate clearly under pressure
• Day-to-day client contact
• Develop budgets and team priorities; identify opportunities to increase budget
• Lead media training sessions with clients, including developing key messages and follow-up
• Writing: generate and edit campaign plans, press releases, fact sheets, bios, briefing books, contributed articles, pitches, Q&As, and related materials
• Maintain professional, timely client communication and craft consistent, creative pitches
• Agency Operations: supervise 2 direct reports, set goals, conduct reviews and check-ins
• Support new business processes: identify targets, conduct research, participate in pitches and networking events
• Lead by example with a respectful, enthusiastic, professional attitude
• Support teams and manage upward and downward; adhere to flexible work policies
• Contribute to Highwire channels and blog
• Mentor junior staff to elevate development

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in PR/communications, with leadership experience on tech-focused campaigns
• Strong writing skills and ability to produce strategic PR programs from concept to execution
• Deep knowledge of the technology industry and digital media landscape
• Established relationships with media and influencers in technology sectors
• Ability to think clearly, project confidence, and navigate crises or competitive environments
• Experience managing budgets, teams and client expectations
• Proficiency in measuring and communicating campaign ROI
