Technology background and established relationships with consumer tech media are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Media/Influencer relations and strong relationships with business, broadcast and influencer media; direct staff to develop the same.
  • Utilize social media channels creatively to engage and support efforts.
  • Ongoing engagement of media for the agency (e.g., blog Q&A, lunch talks, etc.).
  • Measure the ROI of communications activities.
  • Manage social media influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification.
  • Client service/management: manage PR programs from kickoff through achieving goals; set aggressive but achievable goals based on generating news and ongoing coverage.
  • Exceptional client management and deep investment in client success; manage through change or crisis; day-to-day client contact.
  • Develop budgets and team priority allocations; identify opportunities to increase budgets.
  • Lead media training sessions with clients, including developing key messages and follow-up.
  • Writing proficiency: generate and edit plans, press materials, bios, briefings, pitches, Q&As, and related documents; oversee production and assembly.
  • Maintain professional, timely client communication and develop consistent, creative pitches.
  • Agency operations: manage two direct reports, support goal development, and conduct reviews; participate in new business activities; attend networking events.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a respectful, enthusiastic, professional team environment; support teams and manage up and down.
  • Adhere to flexible work policies and engage with Highwire’s channels and blog.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in tech PR with a proven track record of growing teams and delivering client impact.
  • Ability to lead multiple teams (3–4) with strategic and hands-on execution across media, influencers, and social channels.
  • Strong writing skills and deep knowledge of the technology industry; proficiency in digital and social media strategies.
  • Experience developing programs with meaningful business impact and a track record of edge-thinking leadership.
  • Established relationships with consumer tech media.
