Court Reporter - Muskogee - VA VISN-19 | Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center
Responsibilities
- Provide Court Reporting Services to the Western States Network Consortium as part of ProSidian engagements for Government - Federal sector clients.
- Support program and project management requirements in a functional area with educational and practical experience related to court reporting and related duties.
- Produce accurate, timely, bound and indexed transcribed testimony from witnesses; administer oaths as required; and ensure work products are thorough, well-documented, and compliant with established criteria.
- Read, interpret, and, if requested, clarify inaudible portions of transcripts; ensure readability and accessibility of transcripts for boards or other presiding bodies.
- Be punctual, maintain professional demeanor, and supply necessary equipment and materials to perform duties.
- Operate with a high level of ethical and professional conduct, meeting milestones and delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency; at least one year of experience in court reporting.
- Certification as a National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), or equivalent (state certification or other credential acceptable upon request); credentials to be provided within one week upon client request.
- Competence in English to read portions of the transcript during proceedings; ability to clarify inaudible statements; experience with Administrative Investigation Board (AIB) process, Equal Opportunity Hearing, MSPB, or arbitration hearings is preferred.
- Competence to administer oaths; ability to have depositions transcribed by a duly authorized notary; flexibility to accommodate turnarounds requested by the client.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools; ability to use a computer for communication and documentation.
- Technical proficiency in the skills necessary to fulfill government requirements; physical ability to perform required duties (with or without accommodation): bend, lift up to 20 pounds, reach, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
- U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain relevant background investigations and security clearances as required.
Additional Details
- Location: Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center; occasional travel as needed; travel coordinated with the technical POC and approved by the Contracting Officer in advance per Federal Travel Regulations.
- Other requirements: use of Microsoft Office; ability to communicate via email; compliance with security and employment authorization requirements.
