Temporary Visual Communications/Graphics Designer - Kannapolis, NC
PHHI is hiring a Graphic Designer who will be directly responsible for the print and digital needs to promote and support the research and outreach efforts of PHHI. Visual materials will be used in print and online publications/resources.
Responsibilities
- Development of PHHI collateral and updating existing design files to support the mission of the institute, as well as program specific materials, including recipe cards, lesson plans, e-newsletters and visuals for digital media.
- Design, lay out, and oversee production of artwork such as graphs, maps, charts, posters, signs and infographics.
- Coordinate relationships with vendors; prepare specifications and obtain estimates for final approval.
- Collaborate extensively with the Extension associate for communications to realize a final product.
- Ensure all assets are compliant with NC State University brand guidelines.
Note: Attend non-revenue generating sporting events for free.

Requirements & Preferences
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of printing, publishing and related computer software (Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop and InDesign).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to different audiences, including students, educators, Extension professionals, legislators, and the general public.
- Experience working with multicultural teams.
