Overview
PHHI is hiring a Graphic Designer who will be directly responsible for the print and digital needs to promote and support the research and outreach efforts of PHHI.
Visual materials will be used in print and online publications / resources, including program materials such as recipe cards, lesson plans, e-newsletters and visuals for digital media.
Responsibilities
- Design, lay out, and oversee production of artwork such as graphs, maps, charts, posters, signs and infographics.
- Develop PHHI collateral and update existing design files to support the mission of the institute, as well as program-specific materials.
- Coordinate relationships with vendors; preparing specifications and obtaining estimates for final approval.
- Work extensively on collaborative efforts with the Extension associate for communications to realize a final product.
- Ensure all assets are compliant with NC State University brand guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual / graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Department Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of printing, publishing and related computer software (Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop and InDesign).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to different audiences, including students, educators, Extension professionals, legislators, general public.
- Experience working with multicultural teams.
