Responsibilities
PHHI is hiring a Graphic Designer who will be directly responsible for the print and digital needs to promote and support the research and outreach efforts of PHHI. Visual materials will be used in print and online publications/resources.
- Projects will include development of PHHI collateral and updating existing design files to support the mission of the institute, as well as program specific materials, including recipe cards, lesson plans, e-newsletters and visuals for digital media.
- Responsible for design, layout, and overseeing production of artwork such as graphs, maps, charts, posters, signs and infographics.
- Coordinate relationships with vendors; preparing specifications and obtaining estimates for final approval.
- Work extensively on collaborative efforts with the Extension associate for communications to realize a final product.
- All assets must be compliant with N.C. State University brand guidelines.
Minimum Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Department Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of printing, publishing and related computer software (Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop and InDesign).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to different audiences, including students, educators, Extension professionals, legislators, general public.
- Experience working with multicultural teams.
