Overview
The Newman Center presents a season of performances and venue rentals and seeks a Marketing Content Manager to support digital marketing efforts across website content, social media, paid media, email marketing, copywriting, and graphic design. This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefitted position, approximately 37.5 hours per week, reporting to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications. Newman Center staff are employees of the University of Denver.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day digital marketing efforts, including managing a content calendar for performances and rentals.
- Support the planning and execution of email, social media, and digital advertising campaigns (Meta/Google).
- Assist with creating and scheduling email campaigns; help maintain and clean audience lists. Email campaigns require strong copywriting skills, a track record of CTO optimization, and basic knowledge of A/B testing.
- Help create or coordinate the design of marketing materials, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
- Maintain and update website content and rental landing pages using University templates.
- Monitor basic campaign performance metrics; help compile reports and suggest simple improvements.
- Serve as a marketing liaison for rental partners, supporting their promotional needs.
- Collaborate with front-of-house and box office teams to support promotions and build audience lists.
- Draft and distribute press releases, calendar listings, and assist with earned media outreach.
- Post timely, engaging, and brand-consistent content across social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube); track trends and relevant arts news.
- Help manage community engagement on social platforms, including responding to comments and messages.
- Support audience surveys and collect feedback post-performance.
- Maintain digital dashboards and assist with pulling basic marketing insights.
- Provide general marketing support for internal departments, including development and education initiatives.
- Draft and send text messaging content when needed.
- Occasionally attend and support Newman Center events taking place during evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn administrative software quickly and efficiently
- Enthusiasm to learn performing arts-specific language and the unique needs/pain points of audiences; performing arts experience is a plus
- Experience with email marketing software is required (e.g., Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp); marketing tech stack experience is a plus
- Social media platform knowledge (Meta Business Suite: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn); ability to analyze data and adjust strategy for in-house posting and digital advertising
- Exceptional proofreading, editing, and copywriting skills
- Working knowledge of publishing and design software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva and Photoshop; ability to manage daily design needs for photography, ads, and video editing. Advanced design experience is a plus
- Funnel knowledge, model evolution, automation, and/or lead generation experience is a plus
- Desire to stay current with AI trends and new digital marketing technologies and strategies
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work well both with a team and independently
- Ability to manage sensitive, confidential material in a professional manner
- Willingness to learn on the fly and adapt quickly
- Availability to attend all NCP performances for social media, with some photography and video content
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in marketing, public relations, or comparable communications field from an accredited university or college
- At least 2 years of marketing and social media experience or equivalent education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a nonprofit organization
- Working, professional interest in the performing arts
- Standard office environment
- Noise level is quiet to moderate
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
- Some night hours and/or weekend hours may be required on limited occasions
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; some evenings and weekends required based on event schedule

Salary
The salary grade for the position is 9. The salary range is $57,000-$65,000. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on qualifications, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and market information, but not based on sex or any other protected status.
