Opened in 2002, the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver is acclaimed as one of the nation’s finest performing arts centers. The Marketing Content Manager supports both the Newman Center Presents season and venue rentals, and drives digital marketing efforts including website content and updates, social media, paid media (with an agency), email marketing and segmentation, copywriting, and graphic design. This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefitted position, estimated at 37.5 hours per week. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day digital marketing efforts, including managing a content calendar for performances and rentals.
  • Support planning and execution of email, social media, and digital advertising campaigns (Meta/Google).
  • Assist with creating and scheduling email campaigns; help maintain and clean audience lists; strong copywriting skills and basic knowledge of A/B testing.
  • Help create or coordinate the design of marketing materials, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain and update website content and rental landing pages using University templates.
  • Monitor basic campaign performance metrics; help compile reports and suggest simple improvements.
  • Serve as a marketing liaison for rental partners; support their promotional needs.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and box office teams to support promotions and build audience lists.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and calendar listings; assist with earned media outreach.
  • Post timely, engaging, and brand-consistent content across social media; track trends and relevant arts news.
  • Assist with community engagement on social platforms; respond to comments and messages.
  • Support audience surveys and collect feedback post-performance.
  • Maintain digital dashboards and assist with pulling basic marketing insights.
  • Provide general marketing support for internal departments, including development and education initiatives.
  • Draft and send text messaging content when needed.
  • Occasionally attend and support Newman Center events during evenings and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn administrative software quickly.
  • Interest in performing arts language and audience needs; performing arts experience is a plus.
  • Experience with email marketing software (e.g., Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp); marketing tech stack experience a plus.
  • Experience with social media platforms and brand voice management; ability to analyze data and adjust strategy.
  • Excellent proofreading, editing, and copywriting skills.
  • Working knowledge of publishing and design software (Adobe InDesign, Canva, Photoshop); daily design needs for photography, ads, and video editing; advanced design experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI trends and new digital marketing technologies; tech stack experience a plus.
  • Attention to detail and organization; ability to work independently and in a team; discretion with confidential material.
  • Willingness to learn quickly and adapt; ability to attend performances for social media content.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, public relations, or related field; at least 2 years of marketing and social media experience.
  • Preferred: Experience working for a nonprofit organization; interest in the performing arts.

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment; noise level quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods; some night and weekend hours may be required.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with some evenings and weekends required based on event schedule.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is $57,000-$65,000. The University of Denver offers benefits including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit, and ECO pass. Salary offers depend on qualifications and other factors as described in the posting.
