Responsibilities
- Coordinate performance programs for The Ringling and contribute to the conceptualization, development, management, logistics and administration of the Art of Performance and Historic Asolo Theater live performance programming and related activities.
- Work closely with the Performance Programs Curator to create and monitor project/production plans for performance programming, performative installations, and special projects such as artist residences, artist/community outreach, and new production commissions, including resident artist and MicroWIP artist public programming. Assist with curatorial planning including artist research & selection, program scheduling, special events, grants and outside funding, etc.
- Implement performance programming including budget development, project development, contracting, guest-artist services, production management, marketing/communication documents, production playbills, didactics, etc. Collaborate with the HAT Technical Director, Education, Events, Collections, Curatorial and Development and Marketing teams on production plans and related events in the theater, across campus and offsite.
- Maintain communication with guest artists/companies and their representatives for negotiation, processing and fulfillment of performance contracts. Coordinate travel arrangements (including VISA processing), local transportation, production and equipment shipping/freight, accommodations, per diem, artist payments, and artist services. Foster relationships with community partners and organizations to advance Ringling's performance program.
- Coordinate and oversee administrative support for budget management, artist services and contracting, expenditure requests, purchasing, correspondence, data compilation, report preparation, admin office operations, and related responsibilities for the Art of Performance department.
- Schedule and implement social media posts for the HAT and performance programs and advance promotions for audience development with Box Office, Marketing teams, and local partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in performing arts, performing arts administration, or a related field and two years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years. (Note: higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performing arts events production, technical theater and/or arts administration.
- Artist-centered performing arts program design and presenting.
- Coordinating, organizing, and evaluating events.
- Managing artist related travel.
- Knowledge of applicable computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; working with non-U.S. based artists and artist visa processing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously; utilize problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in community outreach with external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative arts marketing disposition.
- Exposure to a wide range of national and international arts practitioners.
- Social media and tech savvy.

Anticipated Salary Range
$45,000+ annually and based on education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate.

Working Hours
