Graphic Designer & Social Media Specialist The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association (HCMA) is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy through advocacy, education, awareness, and support. We are seeking a creative and versatile **Graphic Designer & Social Media Specialist** to join our team. This role combines strong design skills with social media strategy, ensuring that HCMA's mission is communicated through compelling visuals and engaging digital content. # Key Responsibilities - Design visually impactful digital and print assets including social media graphics, infographics, brochures, newsletters, and event branding. - Develop and execute HCMA's social media content strategy across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms). - Create engaging campaigns for awareness initiatives, educational outreach, fundraising, and community events. - Manage HCMA's social media accounts, including content scheduling, posting, engagement, and community interaction. (Buffer) - Monitor social media analytics and KPIs, preparing reports to evaluate impact and recommend data-driven improvements. - Collaborate with staff to translate complex medical and advocacy concepts into clear, accessible visual and digital content tailored to diverse audiences. - Support webinars, online education initiatives, and events with promotional graphics slide decks for presentations,and digital marketing assets. - Maintain brand integrity across all design and communication platforms, ensuring accessibility and consistency. - Manage and update a library of design and digital content assets. # Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - 2+ years of experience in graphic design and social media management, preferably within nonprofit, healthcare, or advocacy sectors. - Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Canva; knowledge of video editing and motion graphics is a plus. - Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices for nonprofit organizations. - Skilled in both creative design and writing for social media audiences. - Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for patients, families, and healthcare professionals. - Experience with analytics tools such as Meta Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, or Later). - Knowledge of healthcare communication, patient advocacy, or scientific/medical topics is an advantage but not required. # Location and Work Environment - in person position ​occasional travel to events or conferences may be required. - Reports to the Assistant Director and working with the CEO - Full-time . # Why Join HCMA? - Make a direct impact by sharing lifesaving information with patients and families living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. - Help shape the digital presence and community connection of a growing national nonprofit. - Collaborative, mission-driven environment that values creativity, innovation, and advocacy​
