EFSC Music Professor Earns Prestigious FCSAA Honor

Eastern Florida State College Music Professor Dr. Robert Lamb was recently named tothe Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Hall of Fame.

The FCSAA Hall of Fame is comprised of administrators, coaches, advisors, officials,students, and other nominees who have contributed a minimum of 10 years to FCSAA orone of its member institutions. Honorees are selected by their peers on the meritsof their community and state college contributions and achievements, as well as significantaccomplishments.

The honor was presented at the FCSAA Winter Music Symposium held in late January atJacksonville University.

Eastern Florida State College Music Professor Dr. Robert Lamb was recently named tothe Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Hall of Fame.

The honor was presented at the FCSAA Winter Music Symposium held in late January atJacksonville University.

Dr. Robert Lamb was presented the FCSAA award in late January 2025.

“Dr. Lamb is the perfect example of how our EFSC faculty goes the extra mile for theirstudents and for our local community,” said college president Dr. Jim Richey. “Notonly does he put forth an incredible effort in the classroom engaging his students,but he also shares his talents to the benefit of many through the Brevard CommunityChorus. This is a well-deserved honor.”

At EFSC, Dr. Lamb directs all choral activities and currently serves as the programmanager in the Performing and Visual Arts Department.

He has been an active volunteer for the FCSAA Music Division Winter Symposium andwas the director of the Student Artist Competition from 2005-2008 and 2019-2024.

Dr. Lamb is also an active member of several professional organizations includingthe American Choral Directors Association, the American Guild of Organists, ChorusAmerica, and the American Musicology Association, and many others.

Colleague and EFSC Music Professor Dr. Chanji Kim shared that “Robert works aboveand beyond and cares so much about our music programs and students! I could writea 100-page dissertation on all that he does and the positive impact he has on so manystudents each year at EFSC.”

“It’s been a pleasure to serve the student musicians in Florida’s state colleges overthe years,” said Lamb. “I continue to be amazed by the poise and talent of our studentsand have been happy to work for an organization that offers scholarship assistanceto them to continue their music studies at four-year colleges and universities.”
