As a Software Engineer on our team, you\'ll be at the forefront of innovating personalized music experiences for millions of listeners worldwide. You will take ownership of key features from conception to launch, working with a team of experts in machine learning and personalization to build scalable and robust systems.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate with Machine Learning: Design and implement voice-powered features that redefine how customers interact with Amazon Music, focusing on personalized recommendations and seamless track sequencing.
  • Drive End-to-End Ownership: Take a feature from idea to launch, collaborating with applied scientists, product managers, and other engineers to see your work directly enhance customer engagement.
  • Join a Strategic Growth Area: Be part of a team leading Amazon Music\'s strategic focus on voice and personalization, a rapidly evolving and high-impact space.
  • Minimize Operational Burden: Build robust and scalable systems that reduce operational load, allowing you to focus on developing new features and algorithms.
  • Pioneer Music Discovery: Design and implement content selection and ranking algorithms that leverage machine learning to power intelligent voice recommendations across all of Amazon Music\'s listening tiers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Innovate and Develop Voice Features: Drive the development of new, voice-powered features. You will build solutions that revolutionize how customers interact with Amazon Music, focusing on personalized recommendations and seamless track sequencing.
  • Design and Implement Algorithms: Design and implement the content selection and ranking algorithms that power intelligent voice recommendations. This includes leveraging machine learning models to deliver highly personalized music experiences across all of Amazon Music\'s service tiers (Unlimited, Prime, and Free).
  • Integrate and Collaborate: Work closely with a team of engineers and applied scientists to integrate new sequencing algorithms and models into various voice and visual customer experiences, such as AutoPlay and Stations.
  • Build Scalable Solutions: Develop and deploy robust, highly scalable voice-based solutions with low latency and high availability for millions of users, prioritizing advanced customer understanding and conversational abilities.
  • Own the Full Lifecycle: Partner with product managers to brainstorm, experiment, and launch innovative voice experiences, taking ownership from concept to launch and directly impacting customer engagement.

About the team

The Sequencing and Voice Recommendations Team is at the forefront of revolutionizing how customers experience music through voice. We are a dynamic group of engineers and applied scientists dedicated to leveraging Generative AI and machine learning to create personalized and engaging music experiences. We focus on developing advanced algorithms for personalized recommendations, intelligent track sequencing, and robust voice-powered content delivery, collaborating with product managers to ideate, experiment, and launch voice experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
