As a Software Engineer on our team, you will take ownership of key features from conception to launch, working with a team of experts in machine learning and personalization to build scalable and robust systems.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Innovate and Develop Voice Features: Drive the development of new, voice-powered features that personalize recommendations and track sequencing.
  • Design and Implement Algorithms: Design and implement content selection and ranking algorithms that power intelligent voice recommendations across Unlimited, Prime, and Free tiers.
  • Integrate and Collaborate: Work with engineers and applied scientists to integrate new sequencing algorithms and models into voice and visual experiences such as AutoPlay and Stations.
  • Build Scalable Solutions: Develop and deploy robust, highly scalable voice-based solutions with low latency and high availability for millions of users.
  • Own the Full Lifecycle: Partner with product managers to brainstorm, experiment, and launch innovative voice experiences from concept to launch.

About the team

The Sequencing and Voice Recommendations Team focuses on leveraging Generative AI and machine learning to create deeply personalized and engaging music experiences across Amazon Music platforms. We develop advanced algorithms for personalized recommendations, intelligent track sequencing, and robust voice-powered content delivery, collaborating with product managers to ideate, experiment, and launch voice experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
