We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to innovate personalized music experiences for millions of listeners by building voice-powered features, collaborating with machine learning and personalization experts, and delivering scalable, robust systems.
Responsibilities
- Innovate with Machine Learning: Design and implement voice-powered features focusing on personalized recommendations and seamless track sequencing.
- Drive End-to-End Ownership: Take a feature from idea to launch, collaborating with applied scientists, product managers, and other engineers to enhance customer engagement.
- Join a Strategic Growth Area: Be part of a team leading Amazon Music\u2019s strategic focus on voice and personalization.
- Minimize Operational Burden: Build robust and scalable systems to reduce operational load, enabling feature and algorithm development.
- Pioneer Music Discovery: Design and implement content selection and ranking algorithms powering intelligent voice recommendations across listening tiers.
- Own the Full Lifecycle: Partner with product managers to brainstorm, experiment, and launch innovative voice experiences, from concept to launch.
Key responsibilities
- Innovate and Develop Voice Features: Drive development of new, voice-powered features for personalized recommendations and track sequencing.
- Design and Implement Algorithms: Build content selection and ranking algorithms powering intelligent voice recommendations across Unlimited, Prime, and Free.
- Integrate and Collaborate: Work with engineers and applied scientists to integrate sequencing algorithms into voice and visual experiences (e.g., AutoPlay and Stations).
- Build Scalable Solutions: Develop robust, low-latency, highly available voice-based solutions for millions of users.
- Own the Full Lifecycle: Collaborate with product managers to take features from concept to launch.
About The Team
The Sequencing and Voice Recommendations Team focuses on leveraging Generative AI and machine learning to create deeply personalized and engaging music experiences across Amazon Music platforms. We develop advanced algorithms for personalized recommendations, intelligent track sequencing, and robust voice-powered content delivery, and collaborate with product managers to ideate, experiment, and launch voice experiences.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling)
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations)
- Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science or equivalent
