Job Summary

The University of North Georgia Department of Music is currently accepting applications for an Audio/Video Recording and Production Assistant. The Audio/Video Recording and Production Assistant will record live performances both on and off campus as assigned, set lighting for performances, assist with and facilitate A/V needs and setup in performance venues, and assist with general upkeep of the performance and technology spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Recording Music Department events at both on and off campus venues.
  • Editing/producing audio and video recordings for archival and distribution.
  • Assisting with A/V and lighting needs for Music Department performances and events.
  • Assisting with general upkeep of performance and technology spaces.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Ideally will have taken MUSC 3230 or an equivalent course.
  • Must have availability days, nights, and weekends to work events.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work events both off-campus or on UNG campuses other than the student\'s home campus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in recording and audio/video technologies and livestreaming performances.
  • Familiarity with lighting and light programing.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Must have a functional knowledge of audio and video recording principals and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Knowledge of DAW software principals.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital mixing consoles.
  • Must be able to stay calm and friendly in busy, stressful situations delivering excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to appropriately set lighting for performances.
