Description
This role addresses communication and swallowing needs across age ranges, from infants to older adults, with a focus on fostering potential, confidence, and meaningful connections. The environment combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support and offers opportunities in pediatric, adult neurogenic rehabilitation, or cognitive-linguistic therapy for seniors.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric to geriatric ages through standardized assessments and keen observation.
- Create individualized treatment plans that meet immediate goals and long-term communication or swallowing needs.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy to enhance communication, fluency, language, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical professionals, caregivers, and family members to provide unified care.
- Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Support occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to maintain continuity of care.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if awaiting ASHA certification.
Certifications
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.

- Expertise in applying evidence-based practices for individuals across age groups with developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques for diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

- Proficiency in managing electronic health records and documentation standards.
