This opportunity is for two qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instructional support to students with visual impairments in K-12 settings within the Chicago area. The role involves delivering direct and consultative services that empower students to access the general education curriculum and thrive in their school environment.

Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized instruction and consultative services to students ages 321 with visual impairments. Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to students unique visual needs. Teach compensatory skills including Braille literacy, assistive technology use, orientation and mobility strategies (in collaboration with O&M specialists), and daily living skills. Adapt and modify instructional materials for accessibility and provide consultation to classroom teachers. Collaborate effectively with educational teams, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support. Travel between multiple school sites if assigned an itinerant caseload. Qualifications: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired endorsement. Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments. This position is a contract role covering the current school year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on students academic and personal growth through specialized instruction.
