A part-time opportunity is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving K-12 students in the Hickory, NC area. This contract position supports an itinerant caseload of 12 students across nine schools within the district. The role is currently onsite and offers approximately 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are visually impaired or blind.
Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs.
Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to enhance student learning and access.
Travel between nine designated school sites to deliver itinerant services.
Utilize appropriate assistive technology and teaching strategies specific to visual impairment.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
Ability to manage a caseload across multiple school locations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Reliable transportation to commute between sites.
