As a Senior Software Engineer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will contribute to the development, delivery and operation of cloud services that enable the delivery of novel consumer video applications. The charter is the design, implementation and operation of a new set of cloud services focused on the digital media production industry. Product areas include virtual animation workstation service, digital asset management, high performance storage, render farm as a service, license management and production pipeline management services. This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from the ground up and extend the reach of OCI to green field opportunities in the media and entertainment industry.
You will work with a talented group of software developers, designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world class cloud development environment. This engineering role seeks an individual with experience in enterprise level software development, delivery and operation of cloud services. Prior experience and domain knowledge in media production pipeline infrastructure services used in film, animation and game development studios is a plus. This is an individual contributor role that requires technical depth and evolved soft skills, including excellent communication and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Cloud service design for availability, scalability, observability and testability.
Implementation, validation and documentation of services and their component microservices.
Collaboration within the engineering team to deliver and operate cloud services that enable animation, film and game development studios to run their production workflows in the cloud.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
Launching new cloud services and establishing operational excellence.
Work collaboratively to realize and achieve the technical vision of the team.
Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams.
Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes and best practices.
Qualifications
BS/CS in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of software development experience with modern programming languages.
Large/enterprise scale software development and engineering experience, particularly with cloud services and distributed systems.
Domain knowledge and experience with workflows and pipelines for media production: digital asset management and namespaces, familiarity with 3D frameworks, universal scene description, scene graphs, layers and models, 3D data packaging, rendering workflows, image composition and tools used by artists, engineers, editors and content creators are a plus.
Experience collaborating with geo-distributed teams.
Training and experience in software implementation, code and design reviews, and failure root cause analysis.
Designing for availability, observability, scalability, testability and recoverability.
Benefits and Compensation US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,800 - $178,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
