Senior Software Engineer, OCI Media Services
– Oracle As a Senior Software Engineer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute to the development, delivery and operation of cloud services that enable delivery of novel consumer video applications. The charter is responsibility for design, implementation and operation of a new set of cloud services focused on the digital media production industry. Product areas include virtual animation workstation service, digital asset management, high performance storage, render farm as a service, license management and production pipeline management services. This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from the ground up and extend the reach of OCI to address green field opportunities in the media and entertainment industry. You will work with a talented group of software developers, designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world class cloud development environment. This role requires experience in enterprise level software development, delivery and operation of cloud services. Prior domain knowledge in media production pipeline infrastructure services used in film, animation and game development studios is a plus. This is an individual contributor role requiring technical depth, plus evolved soft skills and strong collaboration abilities. Responsibilities
Cloud service design for availability, scalability, observability, and testability. Implementation, validation and documentation of services and their component microservices. Collaborate within the engineering team to deliver and operate cloud services that enable animation, film and game development studios to run their production workflows in the cloud. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensure compliance and drive innovation. Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence. Work collaboratively to realize and achieve the technical vision of the team. Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams. Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes, and best practices. Qualifications
BS/CS Computer Science or related field and 3+ years software development experience with modern programming languages. Large/enterprise scale software development and engineering experience, particularly with cloud services and distributed systems. Domain knowledge and experience with workflows and pipelines for media production; familiarity with digital asset management and namespaces; exposure to 3D frameworks, universal scene description, scene graphs, layers and models, 3D data packaging, rendering workflows, image composition, and tools used by artists, engineers and editors is a plus. Experience collaborating with geo-distributed teams. Training and experience in software implementation, code and design review, and root cause analysis. Designing for availability, observability, scalability, testability, and recoverability. Location
