Key Responsibilities Media/Influencer relations
Maintain strong relationships with more than ten key media across business and tech industries
Identify new media opportunities for clients and share findings with teams and across the agency
Regular proactive pitches that generate coverage for the whole team
Coach junior staff to improve team performance
Leverage social media channels to engage and support efforts
Measure the ROI of communications activities
Experience with influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification
Client service/management: manage projects from concept through execution
Track competitors and flag opportunities and news events for commentary
Own and direct client PR calls; provide counsel on media opportunities under challenging circumstances
Develop quarterly campaigns and PR plans including creative campaigns, trendscapes, and thought leadership topics
Own key elements of the PR program (analysts, speaking, content, etc.) and serve as a go-to resource for client contact
Develop budgets and team priority allocations
Participate in media training sessions with clients, including developing key messages
Writing proficiency: generate plans for campaigns or PR programs; edit award submissions, press releases, fact sheets, biographies, briefing books, pitches, Q&As, and related materials
Professional, articulate, and timely client communication; develop consistent, creative pitches
Agency operations: participate in new business processes, attend and/or coordinate networking events
Mentor junior staff and support teams; self-development with quarterly goals; prioritize responsibilities by impact and timelines
Drive projects forward independently; minimize need for manager check-ins
Attend regular networking events; identify areas for self-improvement and bring solutions to management
Meet deadlines or communicate delays in advance
Qualifications 3-5 years of experience at an agency or startup, with involvement in innovative campaigns
Exceptional writing and leadership capabilities; comfortable pitching and influencing
Strong media relationships and influencer engagement experience
Ability to develop and execute strategic PR plans and campaigns
Experience managing client relationships and projects from concept through delivery
