Hybrid 2-3 days on site in Washington, DC Our client is a leading nonprofit scientific society. We are looking for an exceptional internal communications specialist to help with messaging, branding and communications. Rate: $32-$47/ hr. w2.

Internal Communications Planning and Execution Develop and manage the editorial calendar for internal communications, ensuring consistent and timely updates across all staff channels. Write, edit, and distribute high-quality internal content including announcements, intranet posts, talking points, and leadership messages. Coordinate with HR, IT, Finance, Legal, Inclusion and Belonging, and other partners to ensure messaging is aligned and accessible. Partner with IT and vendors to advocate for improved functionality, usability, integration, and reach of communications tools. Employee Engagement and Events Support planning and execution of internal events such as town halls, leadership webinars, and hybrid staff gatherings. Ensure events are engaging and provide clear opportunities for staff to connect with leadership and the mission. Measurement and Continuous Improvement Track and analyze engagement metrics to assess effectiveness of internal communications impacting behavioral change and employee engagement. Provide insights and recommendations to improve clarity, reach, and impact. Team Collaboration Collaborate with the corporate communications team and support cross-divisional and enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring consistent and unified messaging. Serve as a trusted partner to colleagues, helping staff and leaders craft effective internal messages. Experience Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in internal or corporate communications, employee engagement, or related fields. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt style and tone for different audiences. Experience managing internal communications platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, intranets, Asana). Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; attention to detail. Collaborative and adaptable, with strong relationship-building skills across divisions. Experience with event planning and virtual/hybrid event support preferred. Creative thinker who enjoys improving processes and enhancing employee experience. Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience using social media (Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, LinkedIn) to build brand awareness. Experience with graphic design, photo editing, and publishing. Ability to identify target audiences’ preferences and produce tailored content. Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field. Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range. W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pretax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
