Event Technician, Audio Visual - Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center at Encore
A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
- Customer Service: Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain a positive relationship with clients; meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and equipment works properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Technical Ability: Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with equipment and software issues; manage equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Systems Knowledge: Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine scheduled equipment; interact with staff and outside vendors; utilize floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree is preferred.
- Internal applicants must meet training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program; external applicants must meet all training and certifications within one year.
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required for team members who may operate Company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Physical & Work Environment
Physical requirements include various activities with specified hours; reasonable accommodations may be made. Work environments include hotel/convention center and warehouse settings with irregular hours, on-call status, and potential travel between locations. Exposure to high-end AV equipment and electrical components; heights via lifts and ladders; may involve outdoor temperatures and dirt/dust. Hourly pay range: $15.09 - $18.49. Encore reserves the right to revise responsibilities as needed.
