Overview
As the Social Media Manager for ABB Motion, you will provide strategic leadership, planning and execution of end-to-end social media initiatives ensuring impact, consistency and alignment with business goals. You will strengthen the online presence and executive profiles of ABB Motion on applicable social media channels, designing, executing and optimizing content and campaigns in collaboration with stakeholders, leveraging both paid and organic opportunities.
This role is open globally, with a preferred location in the US or Great Britain. The work model is hybrid.
Key responsibilities
- Content development — Develop, oversee and implement social media content programs for ABB Motion, elevating executive profiles and ensuring alignment with ABB positioning and social media guidelines. Produce, manage, optimize and curate content (including reels, stories, shorts, live streams, etc.) on ABB Motion’s social media channels (LinkedIn, X, YouTube). Collaborate with, train and coach content creators, influencers and advocates to design and manage social media campaigns that drive engagement and growth. Develop a framework for the business area, establish best practices for content creation and distribution, provide guidance to colleagues across divisions, and conduct training sessions. Stay current with trends and drive innovation as part of a multi-channel approach.
- Channel acquisition & management, budget accountability — Assess potential new platforms and manage new channels to enhance presence. Manage contracts for social media tools, oversee regional platforms, ensure alignment with ABB Group and business area strategy, enable divisions to use platforms effectively, and work with the line manager on the social media budget and delivery within time and budget.
- KPIs — Regularly analyze social media performance metrics, adjust tactics to improve results, provide analytics and insights to track performance against best-in-class benchmarks, and proactively implement SEO tactics across social channels to improve visibility.
- Manage & schedule organic and paid campaigns, and updates on relevant webpages of Motion — Utilize tools to schedule posts, deploy paid and organic tactics, manage supplier relationships and budgets, stay up-to-date with platform trends, maintain the scheduling calendar for the Business Area (6 divisions), and ensure relevant webpage updates. Collaborate with advocacy, influencer and content creators to amplify ABB Motion’s presence and drive engagement. Lead strategy to utilize advocacy platforms responsibly and coordinate quarterly communities of practice with social media and digital communications managers at ABB Motion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, social media, or a related field; you are a self-starter with a strong academic foundation.
- Proven track record (5+ years) in a large corporation delivering social media plans within budget, including hands-on content creation, tool management, training and performance analysis to optimize strategy.
- Sharp, engaging writing with the ability to tailor content to different platforms; native English proficiency and strong communication clarity. Proficiency with LinkedIn, X and YouTube and the tools that power social media campaigns.
- Comfortable on camera and experienced producing video content for social media; ability to translate trends into B2B content.
- Understanding of platform algorithms, paid and organic content integration, and the ability to translate metrics into actionable insights.
- Experience with GEO & SEO and integrating them into social media strategy to improve visibility and reach.
- Organized, accountable and able to work with a global, diverse team and audience; strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

For the US market, this position is expected to pay between 116,000 and 215,000 USD annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
