Senior Content Manager, People Managing People (USA) at Black & White Zebra. Lead the program for People Managing People, managing a team of editors and owning a cross-channel editorial strategy across editorial, ebooks, newsletters, podcasts, events, video, and social. Repurpose content across formats and ensure everything published is useful, credible, and performance-driven.
Responsibilities
Lead cross-channel content strategy and roadmap: decide what we create, update, and optimize across channels based on performance data, business goals, and audience needs. Extend stories across editorial, podcasts, newsletters, video, social, and events; repurpose content for maximum impact. Evolve editorial methodology to align with the mission to help readers future-proof their organizations. Ground decisions in SEO, user feedback, competitive research, data sources, and emerging audience needs—especially around AI and the future of project delivery.
Elevate content quality and innovation: oversee site-wide content quality and clarity; contribute first-person content on high-priority topics; participate in interviews, podcasts, and digital PR; test, launch, and scale new formats (interactive tools, visual storytelling, surveys, etc.). Surface emerging reader needs through user feedback and testing, with a focus on AI topics.
Embed and scale AI-powered content systems: work with content operations to integrate AI across the content workflow and refine processes to scale responsibly. Coach editors to participate in earned media and thought leadership in partnership with the Digital PR Lead.
Grow and empower a high-performing content team: manage and mentor editors and contributors; foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and experimentation; coach internal experts to participate in earned media and thought leadership efforts in collaboration with the Digital PR Lead.
How Your Success Will Be Measured
Content output: volume of high-quality net-new and updated articles published each month, aligned to priorities and roadmaps.
Content quality & clarity: adherence to editorial standards and improvements in engagement, UX feedback, and time-to-publish efficiency.
Performance impact: growth in keyword rankings, organic traffic, newsletter sign-ups, and conversions related to AI, project delivery, and PM topics.
AI-powered, scalable improvements: enhancements to templates, workflows, and AI processes that increase quality, reduce friction, and enable scale.
Team development: improvements in editorial growth and content cycle efficiency.
Thought leadership readiness: participation in media and PR opportunities with internal SMEs and editors.
Proprietary enhancements: pieces enriched with original diagrams, templates, tools, visuals, or interactive elements.
Your Skillset Includes
5–7+ years in organic content strategy, editorial leadership, or content marketing with a track record of scaling programs.
Strong foundation in business management and people leadership, with experience using tools like HRIS, ATS, onboarding platforms, or performance management systems.
Proven ability to manage content teams or freelancers in fast-paced environments.
Deep knowledge of SEO, user intent, and content UX; ability to create content that ranks and converts.
Advanced experience with AI-assisted content production, including prompt design and workflow tuning.
Strong research, interviewing, and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex concepts into clear narratives.
Excellent cross-functional communication and project management; experience with SEO, media, operations, and leadership stakeholders.
Data-driven decision making with familiarity with GA4, Ahrefs, WordPress, and Airtable.
Curiosity about future leadership tools and practices and passion for helping others adapt and thrive.
Nice To Haves
Experience contributing expert commentary or appearing in thought leadership content.
Familiarity with PR/media collaboration and working with outreach or communications teams.
Background in content UX, accessibility, or conversion-oriented design for content.
Salary Statement This full-time position is remote with an annual base salary in the range of $110,000 to $140,000 USD. The range reflects the skills, knowledge, and experience for new hires based in the USA. Seniority level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the applicant's qualifications, equity with other team members, and market data. Ranges may vary for candidates outside the USA or at different seniority levels. In addition to base salary, full-time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits package.
