Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and adapt curriculum tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Conduct assessments to determine students visual abilities and learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to integrate appropriate accommodations and support services. Provide direct instruction in orientation and mobility, assistive technology, Braille literacy, and other relevant skills. Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Qualifications and Experience: Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or actively pursuing certification. Experience working with students who have visual impairments preferred; however, new TVIs are encouraged to apply. Strong understanding of blindness-related educational techniques and assistive technologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
