Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments. Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technology to support students academic and social development. Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive learning environment. Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Provide training and guidance to school personnel regarding best practices in supporting visually impaired students. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain certification. Experience or interest in working with students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development related to visual impairment education.
