Title: UI/UX Developer
Location: Austin, TX (2 days remote with 3 days onsite required: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays)
Duration: 12+ Months
Note: Local candidates only. Position will be 2 days remote with 3 days onsite. Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position.
Job Summary: AgreeYa is a system integrator and is looking for a UI/UX Developer.
Responsibilities
- Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Proven UX Design Experience: Extensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping (low and high-fidelity), and usability testing.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
- Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.
- Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure design decisions align with business objectives.
- Utilize a comprehensive toolset including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar; implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies.
- Experience with AI/ML interfaces: design user interfaces for systems that incorporate AI/ML, focusing on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.
- Design for complex systems with consideration for business logic and regulatory requirements (e.g., government services, healthcare, finance).
- Data visualization: present complex data and AI insights in clear visual formats.
- Empathy and user advocacy: advocate for user-centered design principles.
- Collaboration & communication: effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design solutions to stakeholders.
- Understanding of accessibility standards: knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines.
- Bonus: Experience with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based, data-intensive applications.
Minimum Requirements
- 4 required hands-on experience designing UIs/UXs for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- 4 required demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.
- 4 required experience applying UX design principles (hierarchy, contrast, alignment) to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
- 4 required experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles.
- 5 preferred experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
- 3 preferred demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders.
- 3 preferred Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
- 3 preferred strong multitasking skills to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work efforts.
