UX/UI Designer - ( 2502672 )
We are seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to join our team and help us create outstanding digital experiences that impact the entire state of Texas. You\'ll be responsible for designing and implementing intuitive, user-centered experiences and interfaces for responsive websites, applications, and other digital products. You\'ll collaborate with teams to define and design requirements, create wireframes, prototypes, and iterate on designs based on user feedback. Responsibilities
- User Research: Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Use methods such as user interviews, surveys, and usability tests.
- Design Strategy: Support and implement UX strategies for sites and products that align with business goals. Develop user journey maps, empathy maps, and user personas to better understand and address user needs.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to visualize and test design concepts.
- Usability Testing: Conduct regular usability tests to identify areas for improvement and validate design decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with UX designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the design vision is implemented.
- Accessibility: Implement accessibility best practices at every stage of the design process following WCAG guidelines.
- Design Systems: Use, maintain, and extend design systems, user patterns, and documentation to ensure consistency across projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest UX/UI trends and best practices to continuously improve our design processes and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor\'s Degree in Web, User Experience or Communication Design, Information Studies or related. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 4 years of experience in user experience / user interface design or related design work. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
Technical Proficiencies
- Expertise in Figma, Sketch, or InVision and other design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience conducting user research
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Craft, Drupal, or WordPress content management systems
- Solid understanding of experience design principles, best practices, and UX laws
- Strong prioritization, planning and time management skills
- Experience with Monday.com, Confluence, SharePoint, or other collaboration platforms
- Solid understanding of WCAG 2.0
- Demonstrated understanding of user experience and user interface design
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools

- Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Security and integrity: The selected incumbent must maintain the security or integrity of the agency\'s critical infrastructure and will be subject to regular assessments of criminal history and/or reviewed for connections to foreign adversaries.
