Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Dean of Creative, Arts, Design and Media, teach courses in the Photography program.
- Participate in department meetings and functions, curriculum development, staff development, lab maintenance, and student advising.
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory and equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Develop and monitor curriculum to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committees, attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, assist in recruitment and retention efforts, and engage in MATC marketing.
- Support student organizations and activities; develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up; maintain certification and ongoing professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in Photography, Graphic Arts, or Visual Communication.
Occupational Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience, or the part-time equivalent (10,000 hours) as a Photographer in at least one of: Photojournalist, Commercial Photographer, Portrait Photographer, Industrial Photographer, Biomedical Photographer, Audio Visual Photographer, Editorial Magazine Photographer.
Must have mastery in the following areas (verified by portfolio submission):
- Studio lighting (strobe and tungsten)
- Compositional skills
- Photographic reproduction techniques
- Photographic processing (color and B&W)
- Digital original photography and digital editing of stills and video
- Video capture with digital SLR
Additional Requirements
- One of the following must be met: at least five years as a Photographer in the listed occupations within the last 5 years, or two years of post-secondary Photography teaching within the last 5 years, or a current professional quality portfolio.
- Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning is strongly preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication; knowledge of assessment of student achievement techniques.
- WTCS instruction certification requirements and HLC standards (if applicable).
- Ability to relate to students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Hours/Location
This in-person position is a .5 FTE with hours based on course load and enrollment; location and hours vary by departmental need.
Salary
Salary listed up to the midpoint of the range. Placement determined by years of experience, internal salary equity, and evaluation of applicant’s background.
