Job Title: Assistant Studio Manager – Fitness Industry
Location: Fitness Studio (may vary)
Job Type: Full Time
Department: Operations
Salary Range: Based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Properly managing and exceeding all operational and sales budgets
- Lead and coordinate initial and ongoing sales drivers (pre-sale events, studio events, outreach)
- Oversee the sales process and systems
- Assist the Studio Manager in managing, monitoring, coaching-developing and evaluating the performance of all studio managers and staff
- Ensure compliance with business policies for daily studio operations
- Monitor hiring, training and scheduling of studio staff
- Aid in recruiting and onboarding all new employees
- Model studio activities through involvement and lead by example
- Train and mentor new hires for ongoing success and growth
- Ensure branding consistency across all actions
- Empower, monitor and evaluate assigned responsibilities of sales and fitness teams
- Assist in meeting performance metrics (KPI, revenue, ordering, inventory, payroll, cost controls and facilities maintenance)
- Direct sales through outreach programs as required
- Collaborate with leadership to implement new technologies and tools
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in business or related field with 1+ years of management experience preferred
- Ability to work in a TEAM environment
- Flexible to work day, evening, holiday, and/or weekend hours as needed
- Health & Fitness minded with a passion for fitness preferred
- Proven sales leadership required
- Excellent leadership and management skills to create a positive, professional environment
- Minimum 1-2 years of previous sales experience required
- Minimum 0.5-2 years of management experience required, including overseeing staff from hiring to performance management
- Experience in health & fitness industry preferred
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage client and staff concerns
- Strong computer skills with MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Experience in facility operations and customer service teams
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in fitness management software (Mindbody preferred)
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in fitness facilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fitness or wellness environments
- Familiarity with membership management and CRM platforms
- Knowledge of facility maintenance and gym equipment management
- Experience in multi-location operations
- MS Office platform and troubleshooting experience
Salary
$20.00 - $22.00/hr
