Position: Sr Project Cost Analyst - (Sarbanes-Oxley Act/Budgeting/Forecasting)

Location: Columbus, OH - Contract to Hire

Duration: 12 Months

Pay rate: $48/hr on W2

Hours: M-F 8-5, possibility of OT with permission.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project cost analysis and controls for team activities supporting the Project Managers (PMs), overseeing cost reporting for multiple projects and monitoring project budgets to ensure accurate depiction of project cost on large and complex projects under minimal supervision.
• Input budgets within the CLIENT corporate systems, provide ongoing forecast updates and variance analysis, and track KPIs; work collaboratively with project teams to implement best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate and develop partnerships with internal and external customers. Develop/conduct training, lead continuous process improvement efforts and develop tools and processes utilized.
• Possibly be responsible for creation of work orders and interface with external contractors and vendors to integrate these parties into the overall project budget and schedule.
• Perform forecasting of project spending and cash flows, budget variance monitoring, cost tracking/analysis; provide SOX-related analysis and assist with inputs to annual budget, capital forecasts, and five-year plan.
• Collaborate with PMs and other stakeholders to perform variance reporting and establish original baseline budgets phased with system schedule; create project breakdown structures.
• Support departmental functions to ensure smooth project operations, including tracking, analyzing, and submitting verifying information for unvouchered liabilities and maintaining system records.
• Assist in contracting processes and communicate budgetary items to project teams.
• Work independently to resolve moderately complex problems using technical knowledge and analytical techniques; apply problem-solving skills to resolve technical problems.
• Develop and compile KPIs as measurable outcomes; mentor and guide lower level staff as appropriate.
• Lead administration of project management standards and assist in managing projects to these standards; adhere to governance guidance.
• Recommend improvements to enhance project performance, service delivery, and organizational stewardship.
• Advise contractors, vendors, suppliers, and junior team members to obtain project performance data and integrate into total project performance analysis.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications : With a qualified Bachelor's degree, four (4) years' qualified experience required; with a qualified Associate's degree, six (6) years' qualified experience. Degrees in Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management from an accredited university or college are acceptable. Experience should include design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking/forecasting, budgeting, accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.

Additional Requirements : Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively with strong organizational skills; advanced technical knowledge related to writing and verbal communication; proficient in MS Office; team player; some travel may be required; understand and support CLIENT policies and values; safety and ability to perform light physical duties at various sites; experience with corporate accounting and project cost management systems, earned value management, and scheduling systems; overtime or shift work may be required depending on business unit; strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with multiple levels of staff.
