Position Summary

We’re hiring 2 part-time (up to 10 hours a week) Social Media Content Creators to join the Community Relations and Marketing team at OSU -Cascades in Bend, Oregon. In this role, you’ll help drive the creative direction of our presence on TikTok and Instagram Reels, showcasing what life is like on campus and around Bend. From capturing outdoor adventures to highlighting campus culture, you’ll help show what OSU -Cascades is all about, directly from a student’s perspective. This is a fun role designed to give you real-world digital marketing experience that’s transferable to your resume, internships, and future career. You’ll be encouraged to experiment, try out-of-the-box ideas, and develop skills in content creation, social strategy, and audience engagement. Along the way, you’ll be mentored by your supervisor, who will help you learn about the social media and content landscape while supporting your creative growth. You’ll also have access to equipment like tripods and mics to help bring your vision to life. We’re looking for students who are comfortable in front of the camera and willing to interview peers, try trends, and put themselves out there in creative ways. Playfulness and personality are welcome — we want authentic student voices to shine. Pay is $18/hour.

Position Duties

70% Video Production and Posting

Create and publish 1–2 TikTok/Reels each week across OSU -Cascades accounts, showcasing student life, academics, campus events, and the Bend community. Use your creativity, humor, and perspective to produce authentic content that resonates with prospective and current students.

10% Creative Brainstorming

Attend a weekly 1-hour content meeting in-person with your supervisor and fellow student creator to share ideas, collaborate on trends, and plan upcoming posts.

10% Engagement and Analytics

Respond to TikTok comments, interact with followers, and track engagement. Review analytics to learn what’s working and adjust content strategies.

10% Other Duties as Assigned

Contribute to special projects, assist with creative campaigns, or test out new social ideas that help tell the OSU -Cascades story.

Minimum Eligibility / Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS ). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services ( OIS ), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications

  • A commitment to creating inclusive content for diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to work as a team member and take creative direction from others.
  • A strong commitment to this role, including showing up consistently, meeting deadlines, and proactively contributing ideas.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

  • Experience shooting and editing videos for social media (from your phone is okay).
  • Familiarity with TikTok and Instagram.
  • A strong sense of trends and pop culture to help drive engaging content.
