Role: System Analyst (Lead UI/UX Designer)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: Contract
Responsibilities
- Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Proven UX Design Experience: Extensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping (low and high-fidelity), and usability testing.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.
- Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives.
- Employ a comprehensive suite of tools-including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar-and implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies.
- Experience with AI/ML Interfaces: Designing user interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, with a focus on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.
- Complex System Design: Understand and design for complex business logic and regulatory requirements, particularly in domains like government services, healthcare, or finance.
- Data Visualization: Present complex data and AI insights in a clear, concise, and understandable visual format.
- Empathy and User Advocacy: Demonstrate a deep commitment to understanding user needs and advocating for user-centered design principles.
- Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and present design solutions to stakeholders.
- Understanding of Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines to ensure inclusive design.
- Bonus: Experience with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based, data-intensive applications.
Required skills
- 4 years of hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- 4 years of demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.
- 4 years of experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
- 4 years of experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.
Preferred skills
- 5 years of experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
- 3 years of demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- 3 years of Bachelors degree in graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
- 3 years of strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
